Pool, Project, Market, MAGIC, WWD MAGIC, Sourcing@MAGIC, are all part of what happens during the semi-annual fashion gathering of retailers and manufacturers in the Fabulous City of Las Vegas. Here, they showcase trends that are set by an eclectic, diverse and wildly talented group of designers and creative teams.

The fashion at MAGIC 2015 did not disappoint! Denim is probably my favorite fabric, period. It comes in all weights, from lightweight shirting denim to raw denim that is currently being heavily featured in every price range. Denim is being hand painted with splatters (a throwback from the 80’s and an homage to the artist, Jackson Pollock)  marbled (mottled or streaked).  Zendaya, while showcasing her new shoe line, shows that shredded denim is still on trend.

Texture is also being seen in the Men’s and Women’s categories, with layers of lace over lightweight cotton shirts, sweaters over shirts with scarves and chunky jewelry.  Even socks are seeing a boost in design and color, featuring lace overlays for women and even brighter, bolder and more fun, going forward for men.

Corduroy is coming back! The more refined pinwale is showing up in skirts, jackets and shorts for women. The men will be rocking corduroy in great trousers, jackets, lightweight shirts for layering over henley sweaters, paired with refined brogans or cool slick boots.
